The weather has been perfect, not too cold and with blue skies and sunshine. The house was lovely and cosy to return to, after walks to Castle point on Christmas Eve morning.

On Christmas Eve afternoon we went on a 4×4 tour of Bainloch Deer park, Sandyhills. It was a very informative tour of the 800 acre estate, which is home to around 650 deer. The tour is enjoyable to all age groups and as well as viewing deer in their natural habitat, the landscape and far reaching views are fabulous. The day in Kippford ended with a gorgeous sunset.

Christmas Day was bright and sunny again and after a walk to Rockliffe we had a family Christmas dinner for 11. Boxing Day was again a beautiful day and some of the more adventurous amongst us went for a swim off what is locally known as ‘shell beach’ in Kippford.

All in all a lovely family Christmas with some incredible weather.
